Day 1: Arrival

On your arrival day we’ll pick you up at Kilimanjaro International Airport and transfer you to the Arusha for your first night in Tanzania.

Depart your hotel from Arusha, driving to the Lake Manyara National Park, you’ll depart from Arusha after breakfast for the drive to Lake Manyara National Park, the journey takes approximately two hours, but we’ll pass through the market town of Mto wa Mbu along the way. This agricultural and fresh produce market is a melting pot of local cultures and a souvenir hunter’s paradise.

Accommodation: The Manor at Ngorongoro or Similar

Take an early breakfast, as we’ve got a big day of excursion and adventure ahead of us! We’ll begin the day with the scenic drive towards the Serengeti. Along the way we’ll pass through the mist-shrouded rainforests of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area where you might be lucky enough to glimpse cape buffalo, baboons, or even elephants and leopards in the dense undergrowth.
After a wonderful picnic lunch at the Serengeti National Park picnic area, it’s time to explore the Serengeti itself. Witness Africa’s iconic savannah landscape and be amazed by the sheer number of animals that roam these grassy plains. Dinner and overnight in the heart of the Serengeti National Park

Spend all of today on safari in the Serengeti, you can explore the very different regions of this vast park with your driver-guide according to what wildlife you’ve already seen on your safari so far alternatively, you may wish to take to the skies with a sunrise hot air balloon safari and champagne breakfast. Speak with your safari expert about adding this once in a lifetime experience to your safari After your great morning, you’ll return to your lodge for a late breakfast and to freshen up before hitting the road again with a picnic lunch. Your driver will select the best possible route based upon the time of year and the kind of animals you’d like to see, catering your day so that your opportunities to see the Serengeti’s diverse wildlife is increase.

Spend your final day on safari making the most of the sweeping open plains of the Serengeti and trying to see as much wildlife as possible. Other than the Big Five, species to look out for include wild dog, giraffe, wildebeest and spotted hyenas. The birdlife in the Serengeti is also spectacular, with over 500 species recorded here, including a variety of different bustards, lilac-breasted rollers and starlings with distinctive shimmering wings. Our drive takes us back through to Ngorongoro Conservation offering plenty of opportunities to spot the animals that eluded you on day two. As far as the eye can see, you’ll spot upon thousands of animals in herds; wildebeests and zebras migrating together, tall and graceful giraffes, jumping antelopes and gazelles, the powerful African elephant and the most respected group of animals

Accommodation: Lemala Ngorongoro or Similar

For us only early risers are rewarded with breath-taking views of the rising sun over the crater’s edge and after a hot breakfast you will drive down the adventurous track into the crater. This UNESCO world heritage site, formed millions of years ago, is 610 m deep and covers roughly around 260 square kilometers. Due to its dense animal population of approximately 25,000, the crater offers the best game viewing of all the parks in Tanzania. In matter of minutes you will be able to see wildebeest, zebras, gazelles, elephants and some of the more than 500 bird species in the area. With a little bit of luck you might catch a glimpse of the endangered black rhino through the grass.
After an extensive game drive and a picnic lunch you will leave the crater in the afternoon drive to Arusha then transferred to the airport. If there is any scheduled flight.
