Day 1: Arusha.

Upon your arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport you will be met by your Safari Guide who will transfer you by road to Arusha for overnight This attractive little town is situated beneath the towering peaks of Mount Meru and Kilimanjaro. Visit the extraordinary social enterprise Shanga that employs disabled people from the community to create export quality recycled glass products.

After breakfast and a briefing, you will start your adventure by road to Tarangire National Park. This is the sixth largest national park of Tanzania, located about 120 km southwest of Arusha. It is famous for its large herds of elephants, home of birding and authentic safari atmosphere. The landscape and vegetation of the park is incredibly diverse. This park is a little gem, especially when you love elephants. Enjoy the game drive for 2days and the beautiful views over the Tarangire river, where large families of elephants often gather, the perfect spot for a day game drive.

Early after your delicious breakfast we start our drive towards the Lake Manyara National Park. this unique park, flanked by the dramatic Rift Valley and soda lake has an incredible diversity of habitats. The nine rivers, five of which are permanent, support a variety of wildlife and birdlife and extraordinary trees including baobabs.

The Lake Manyara National Park offers a true wilderness experience in diverse habitats, from its Rift Valley soda lake to dense woodlands and steep mountainsides. Cradled in the boughs of an ancient mahogany forest. The Park is famous for its unusual tree-climbing lions and the vast elephant families it was established to protect. The shores of the lake, encrusted with seasonal pink flamingo, attract more than 400 species of waterfowl and migrant birds.

Wake up early for your breakfast and take a stroll on the rim of the Crater, get your packed lunch to see the beautiful views and game drive in the Crater, The Ngorongoro Crater Conservation Area, is home to more than 30 000 protected animals. It is an area of spectacular beauty and excellent game viewing, a truly unique safari destination in Africa. The Ngorongoro Crater, once a gigantic volcano, is the largest intact caldera in the world. Today, long since having collapsed and eroded, it is an extensive highland area with the famous 600-metre-deep Ngorongoro Crater as its focal point.

Your adventure now takes you to the Serengeti. If culture and history are of interest, make a detour to Olduvai Gorge and Shifting Sands, where the Leakey’s made fascinating paleoanthropological discoveries A game drive is an experience to look forward to here with incredibly dense population of wildlife and never-ending rolling plains, with few tourists in this part of the park for most of the year you can enjoy all the sensational sightings to yourself

Serengeti is the most famous destination for safari in Africa, the vast, open plains of the Serengeti epitomize, for many, what Africa is all about. In the Serengeti National Park, the grasslands are roamed by millions of wildebeest, zebra and others, while being stalked by some of the continent’s fiercest predators; the mighty lion, the leopard, the cheetah, to name a few.

After the wilderness experience getting your fill of lions, elephants, buffalo and wildebeest, it is time to fly from Seronera to Unguja, the largest island of the tropical Zanzibar Archipelago, most commonly referred to as Zanzibar. You’ll fly over the impossibly turquoise blue waters of the Indian Ocean before landing on the island, a smiling and sunny place with palm-fringed white sand beaches and a blend of culture. Most of the best beaches are on the east coast, and you’ll pass vibrant villages and spice plantations on the way to wherever you’re staying on the beach. After nine days of early wake ups, we recommend spending the rest of today relaxing.

Breakfast is once again provided at leisure by your beach hotel. After that, feel free to enjoy another full day of relaxation by the Indian Ocean: a bit of sunbathing, perhaps or something a bit more energetic such as snorkelling or swimming. Ask at the hotel reception, to see what activities are available. As you are on a full board basis, once again you will take both lunch and dinner today at your hotel.
